Aaron Bird has what some would call a suspect action. Others would call it a fúcking chuck, but then they’d be accused of racism.
However, biomechanical analysis has shown Bird was within the tolerance level of an elbow extension of 15 degrees or less for every delivery. So we can thank the ICC for passing laws that legitimise the action shown in the animated gif below
Anyway, the bloke is from and plays for New South Wales, so I obviously like him. Just wish he’d keep his elbow straight.
Naturally, the biomechanical analysis was in a lab, which means there is absolutely no chance Bird would exceed 15 degrees in a match.

As for Bird.. he doesn’t look worse than Murali, Shoaib, or Lee…

Wow Q, 50 bowlers! I know the population of Pakistan is large but that suggests a chronic problem lower down the path. Amazing!
Nesta, it were bowlers from all levels – U13, U16, U19, and senior.. there are 13 regional teams, 12 department teams, and another 60 odd clubs that play cricket at different levels in Pakistan… the 50 from all those is a very small percentage…

it is not the typical fast bowlers hand/wrist action is it?
From this angle it looks like it is within 15 degrees. Guess we have to find out.
