Serious question Moses:

Does Clarke give you the shits?
When he gets out in the last over of the day he does. And it's time for him to improve on his high score from his debut, this could be the match.

But on the balance he seems a pretty decent kind of guy..

Hey Dhruv, apologies for the delay in publishing your comment - it was detected as spam, I think due to the links.. anyway I'm still tuning the detection software so hopefully can avoid future delays.

I have no intention of arguing your point - I 100% agree that we've been pretty poorly behaved over the years. To be honest that doesn't bother me at all! I actually like to see some raw aggression on the field (also a rugby fan), prefer to see confrontational players (Katich is going up and up in my books), and can't stand this sanitised product that Cricket Australia and the ICC would have us watch.

No argument that Tendulkar is a good bloke either. Don't take Gilly too seriously, he's just doing what his publisher tells him to flog his book. How many Indians do you reckon have gone out and bought it to see if he 'really' said those things about Sachin? Then he denies it anyway, pretty soft all round and not worth our attention.

If there's such a resurgence in India then why all the empty seats? We manage to get more bums on seats with 1.6% of your population!

Moses, mate I hope you have been watching cricket long enough to see what India does now is only retaliatory. After YEAAAAARRSS of abuses, taunts, and down right insults thrown at their face. And sorry, this is not even arguable.

By the way, check this video out - (the first one)

http://cricketsbestvideos.blogspot.com/

No great quality picture but you'd get the gist.

As an after thought, after all the abuses and insults, and downright unsportsmanlike behaviour that Australia is well known for (except maybe in Australia) - when Tendulkar decided to take sides with his team player Harbhajan, Gilly comes out tainting one of the most gentleman cricketers whose ever played the game. (I hope you have seen the sydney test's final moments, tendulkar was the first indian to shake hands with your team.)

I think Aussies are just sore losers. The worst one at that. And I got to give it to them, for blowing the sh!t through the roof - and causing this resurgence in India which I had never ever seen in my life!
M Clarke the peace-maker. Priceless
Funny how he has to talk some sense into his state captain! As I recall Clarke was a calming influence in an incident in one of the earlier tests too.. must want to be captain or something.
Great! Dont you guys want to burn Gautam's effigy? :-)
But then who needs effigies, when you can use the print media and internet to spew venom.
And didnt Watson stagger and fall when 'mighty' 5ft 4 in Gambhir elbowed him? C'mon, guys push for a 3 test ban. Atleast, that way you could hope for a win in the next test.
or maybe not, because then India would play 3 spinners and bury oz in the Nagpur pitch.
Gambhir escallated the conflict by elbowing Watson, till then it was purely a war of words which is what Test Match Cricket should be. Shane was just pissed that he couldn't hit him back. If the match referee decides this worthy of censure then so be it, I'd rather we just move on.

Gambhir is saying it was an accident now:
<blockquote>"It wasn't deliberate, it just happened," Gambhir said. "I didn't need to get into this argument with Shane Watson because he had no option of getting me out. There wasn't a need for me to stick my elbow out." </blockquote>
What was funny was how every bowler tried to get under Gambhirs skin throughout the day. Every single bowler

Its just sissy when Aussies dont know how to get a batsman out, and then go on trying these silly antics. Bah!
Is it sissy when Bhajji, Khan and Sreesanth use exactly the same tactics? Are the antics any less silly cause they're emulating the Baggy Greens?

I've got no problems with bowlers trying on a bit of verbal if they think they can unsettle a batsman. It's test match cricket (not tiddlywinks) and you should expect a test of both mental resilience in addition to the test of skill. Gambhir passed today with flying colours, however after this altercation almost got run out twice in the next two overs. Oh for a direct hit, just one more area where we are missing Roy.
