You’d be forgiven for not knowing that there’s a Rugby League World Cup on at the moment, as it’s a pretty crap sport and they’re not showing it live on TV!
Anyways, there was an exhibition game between an Australian Indidenous team and a NZ Maori team. The players are all pretty young as the good ones are playing in the RLWC proper, however the footage here is from the war cry’s to open their match.
Pretty intense and as far as replies to the Haka go it’s better than waltzing matilda!

Pretty intense. Still, if you really want to respond to the Haka with something appropriate and Australian, I suggest a brisk and lively version of the locomotion. That ought to give them something to think about.

You might not know this, but the Australian Rugby League team used to do an Aboriginal war dance before every international. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it on the History Channel the other night
