This isn’t out. Once you’ve grounded your bat or any part of your body behind the popping crease you cannot be run out, unless you leave your ground again. So, for example, you could run as Haddin did, cross the crease with something grounded, then jump out of the way of the ball only for it to hit the stumps. This woulnd’t be out.
I thought exactly the same thing when I saw it last night.
According to the laws (29.1) it would have been out if he was off the ground, even though he had previously put his foot down behind the line.
Suppose it never occurred to anyone to appeal since Haddin was behind Rudy.
It also might have been pretty hard to determine whether both Haddin’s feet were identifiably off the ground when the ball hit the stumps.
